Don’t miss that party train

Word is spreading about the launch of the light rail in Phoenix on December 27th, and it sounds like one big tri-city PARTY in the valley of the sun.
The folks over at RailLife.com received a news release about all the activities.
Each station will have something unique to offer from food, music, even street dancers. It’s shaping up to be one big adventure that day!
According to the Metro website, “Saturday activities will occur along the entire 20-mile METRO alignment. There will be music, activities and exhibits at many park-n-ride and light rail station locations.”
Apparently Metro is expecting big crowds (I heard a figure somewhere, working to confirm the information) that first day, so shuttles will be used to get people back to their cars just in case the trains are packed.
This is a great way to get people excited about light rail! Metro says more details will be released in the weeks to come.
