Sharing a ride to the Rhythm Room

Kim Lenz and the Jaguars rocked the Rhythm Room last night in central Phoenix. The rockabilly band is busy promoting their new CD It’s All True which drops today. (source)
I’ll talk about the band in a moment, but first, this was my first time to the venue and I loved it! It’s the perfect space to get up close and hear music from your favorite artist. As you know, I like to promote cool events and fun things to do along or near the Phoenix light rail. The Rhythm Room is about 10 blocks east of the Indian School station. A bit of a hike during the heat of the night, but totally accessible by bike or even a cheap ride by cab.
I’ve listened to the rockabilly genre before, but I’ve never seen a live performance. Let me just say…
This. band. kicks. ass.
I love chicks that rock. The music was great and I loved how the crowd really got into the rockabilly style. You can’t compare Kim to anyone mainstrain. I’ll let the trained professional tell you about Kim here. I found out last night that one of the band’s songs was featured in a recent episode of the popular hit True Blood.
My friend Susan invited me to go, and we carpooled to the RR. As it turns out, you may know Susan – I’ve introduced you to her here. Connecting the dots, Susan’s daughter is Kim Lenz.
Thanks for the invite, Susan! I had a great time! And Kim… you rock!!!
