Having the Saturday market on 1st Street along with a nighttime gig sounds great! There definitely needs to be more staged events until there are more businesses able to move downtown. Speaking of music events, I hear the DJ's in the park is fun on the third Sunday of the month.

I also noticed the fading color of the netting... although I'm thinking it's because of the lights. I noticed that some of the lights are turned off.

Too bad I'm so close that I just walk there! Perhaps something similar for anyone with an 85003/85004 zip code on their drivers license? ;-)

Great place though - be sure to support them more! I really, really wish that the Saturday market ran along 1st street from Roosevelt to Fillmore each week, instead of being in that horribly over-crowded parking lot. In fact, First Friday should be every friday, along 1st Street from Roosevelt to Fillmore - then the public market could utilize the same space on Saturdays/Sundays during the day, and that leaves Saturday nights to have a weekly "music fest" with bands on each end of the street.

See - problems solved... more action, more people, more events, more business funneled to the cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. in this vicinity. More sales tax revenues... plus this runs right between two major Metro Rail stations!

Let's make this happen! Weekly events, folks.... keep the area alive with activity!

Oh, while we're at it, when is someone going to write a story about the lighting at the giant sculpture floating above the Civic Space Park? The thing is getting duller and dimmer every passing night - are the lights not working as well? Is it getting dirty? You can barely see it at night now, compared to when it was first lit up. And why the heck isn't it lit during all nighttime hours? "lights out" at 10pm just re-confirms that we're a sleepy town.
