When I attend an event in downtown Phoenix I intentionally park far enough away to enjoy the pedicab ride through downtown Phoenix. The drivers I've had seem to love their job, enjoy showing us around, and/or just enjoy the fact that they are providing such a nice service. They work on tips, which is refreshing to know that this doesn't have to be regulated. I've had the pleasure of riding Greenstreet in Tucson, as well as several companies in Phoenix. Last night was the first pedicab ride that I was ashamed to see exists in Phoenix. The driver bad mouthed another driver for quite some time during our ride. Once we exited and tipped her, she was very clear that the tip was only 1/2 what she recommends. I stated that if there was a minimum amount it should be clear before departing. I wished her a wonderful evening and her only reply was a sour face and huffy departure. What a shame. Hopefully others who may have her for a 'first' Phoenix Pedicab experience won't be chased off. I'll be contacting her company to report this experience. I'm sure they'd like to know. I have loved and used pedicab transportation for 6 years now.
