Car-free in Phoenix

In honor of ValleyMetro‘s Try 1 in 5 month, I’m showcasing the face of the carfree in Phoenix. These days, living car-free is a conscious choice. Whether you want to help clean the air, reduce congestion on the roads, or you want to get better acquainted with your city. Urban professionals around Downtown Phoenix want to live car-free.

Michael Terlisner, Manager, Cartel Coffee
Michael Terlisner, 32, rides his bike from his home near 16th St and Thomas to Cartel’s new Downtown Phoenix location on 1st Street just north of Washington. You’ll find Michael taking less congested streets to work – like 3rd Street south to Downtown. Michael tells me this is favorite time of year to bike – the brisk ride is like a cold shower. The perfect way to wake up in the morning!
Cartel is one of a handful of new coffeebars in our urban core. Find out more here.
