Carfree in Phoenix part 4
Posted on 17. Feb, 2010 by Tony Arranaga in Featured, News
As part of Valley Metro’s Try 1 in 5 month, I’m talking to professionals in Phoenix who live car-free. Whether you want to help clean the air, reduce congestion on the roads, or you want to get better acquainted with your city – professionals all around Downtown Phoenix want to experience life car-free in the urban core.
Dominic Fasano, Pastry Chef/Owner, To Die For
Many of you are familiar with Dominic’s vegan donuts at Conspire or his lemon scones at Cartel Coffee Lab in Downtown Phoenix. The pastry chef and owner of the one man baking machine To Die For admits his car-free status is a result of the economy: the restaurant he worked for suddenly closed last year. Dominic scaled back and is now emerging from the economic downtown with a new booming business and a carfree lifestyle in the heart of the city. Dominic says riding his bike to work (and around town) introduced him to a new group of people and opened up the downtown community. You can find Dominic’s delicious treats here and here. Read about others who live carfree in our urban core here.

Why, yes, there will be! I’m not sure what, though. (btw, Taylor is talking about the Downtown Phoenix Coffeebar Potluck:
