Potential transit cuts in Phoenix

Phoenix residents could see more cuts to transit service this summer, specifically bus service. According to a post on azcentral.com, the city council will hear recommendations on service cuts that will affect the free neighborhood bus (here). Many people rely on this service to get to work, run errands or get to community centers around the Valley.
This is a good time to remind people about the alternative forms of transportation available in the Phoenix area. Ridesharing and/or commuting by bike might be on the rise in the next few months as the city attempts to shake off the side effects of the recession.
Learn about ridesharing and other commuting options by checking out Valley Metro’s website. Besides explaining what’s available, the site can help match you up with a rideshare partner in your area.
