UPDATE: city response
Graffiti artists in Downtown Phoenix are helping business owners battle tagging and blight, while creating a different kind of art walk during this weekend’s longest running self-guided art tour called Art Detour (here).
A collection of murals can be found in the Roosevelt District, and in an alley between 4th and 5th Streets in Downtown Phoenix. [...]

Those of you who know me know I rarely go see movies, so when I do it’s a big deal. Well, last night I went all out. Not only did I go to the movies, but I went to see Avatar in 3D. (I know, big doins!) I’ve never seen a movie in 3D before [...]

Phoenix Sky Harbor airport can be confusing – even for the experienced traveller. There are a total of three terminals at the airport. I typically fly Southwest and USAir out of terminal four. Those familiar with the layout of this terminal know there’s a north and south curb, gates on both ends (with a combined [...]

My friend Leland posted a Facebook status update over the weekend. Apparently he had gone out over the weekend to enjoy the new late night light rail hours in Phoenix, and ran into a problem when security asked to see his purchased fare. As you know, rail passengers use an honor or ‘proof of purchase’ [...]

Celebrating Independents week at the Heard Museum Cafe

In celebration of National Independence Week, I’m visiting local businesses I’ve never been to along the Phoenix light rail.
After dealing with all the dramarama involving my car (read about the news here), I needed a place to eat and unwind. The Heard Museum was the perfect choice.
The museum, home to one of the best collections [...]

I overhear many conversations during my carfree commute using the light rail in Phoenix, however the chatter that sticks out the most involves the question dude, where’s my stop?
Actually, the conversation that sticks out the most was the one between two men talking about their friend “Frankie” who’s back in the pokie. This time, he [...]
